Branding and Design category of the Gama Innovation Award 2023 - Go Mate Yerba Mate Drink


The Gama Innovation Awards celebrates outstanding innovations from across the world identified by Gama from many thousands of new product launches over the previous year. And the expert judges, that act as the judging panel, come from some of the world’s leading names in Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG).

When receiving the prize, Frank Mertens CMO and one of the cofounders of Go Mate drinks said: "Wonderful, thank you very much. I am very honoured to be here and receive this award. I would love to share with you a little story about the company and why we are here today, also to connect with all of you.

We believe that our brain is our most important organ, but it’s under threat. Society is overwhelming it, distractions are misleading it and drinks are poisoning it. Whether it’s way too much caffeine or way too much sugar or chemicals, there are countless drinks out there that claim to help brain performance but actually do harm over time.

Our product, Go Mate, helps high performers who are looking to have mental sharpness but do it naturally, and that’s why we have nootropics in our drinks. Go Mate is a nootropics based drink, yerba mate and also fruit juices. We do it with our company because we help him performers who may struggle with mental health issues to get the support they need throughout the partnerships we have with different NGOs and ultimately through our brand to inspire high performers through the personalisation that our brand has.

We co-create with our customers and we also have exclusivity. Customers can create their own character and produce their own pack and all of them are collectibles And even one of your investors and part co-founder Sergio Agüero who’s the Man City Legend has created his own character and his own pack We are very honoured to be here, so thank you very very much”.

The eighth edition of the Gama Innovation Conference & Awards (GICA), took place on Thursday 19th October 2023, at The Bridgewater Hall in #Manchester, UK. GICA2023 is an invitation-only event and welcomed over 300 attendees from around the globe, including FMCG manufacturers, industry experts, retail buyers, hotels, airlines and investors.

Each of the two variants' distinct color palettes, meticulously chosen to align with the brand's identity, plays a pivotal role in the design: The Eucalyptus Forest variant boasts a rich, deep green hue, evoking a sense of freshness and purity, while the Manzano Flower variant exudes a delicate, soft pink tone, conveying a feeling of tranquility.

IbuMejoral exceptional logo and packaging design, meticulously crafted by Imaginity, was featured in the third installment of the acclaimed book series, Pack Your Life, published by ArtPower International.

Pack Your Life III showcases a captivating compilation of innovative branding and packaging design masterpieces sourced globally. Each design not only captivates with its aesthetic brilliance but also holds significant reference value within the industry.

This branding and packaging design was created for the launch of a new ibuprofen product range under the Ibumejoral brand, for Elisium Laboratories. Our objective was clear: to develop a contemporary packaging design that effectively communicates quality, performance, reliability, and innovation, while also setting the product apart from competitors on the shelves.

In our approach to the packaging design, we opted for a sleek silver background to convey a sense of modernity and premium quality, thereby elevating the brand's positioning in the market. Additionally, to facilitate easy identification of the different product variants, we implemented a color-coded system.

For Ibumejoral Children, we took it a step further by creating a distinct sub-brand identity accompanied by playful illustrations, carefully crafted to resonate with the whimsical world of children. By incorporating these elements, the packaging design not only captures the essence of the product's attributes but also enhances its shelf presence, making it instantly recognizable and appealing to consumers.
