Strategic Structural Product Design for Anti-Acne Skincare
As a leader in Strategic Packaging Design, Imaginity was tasked by Laboratorio Elea to develop the structural product design for Adermicina’s new Anti-Acne cleansing bar. This project showcases our ability to merge industrial engineering with skincare branding, creating a functional tool for daily hygiene that leverages activated charcoal trends. By blending ergonomic functionality with a bold, modern aesthetic, we helped Adermicina introduce a premium FMCG innovation that stands out in a crowded beauty category.

The Branding Challenge: Expanding Skincare Architecture through Structural Design
The primary objective was to engineer a physical product that communicates the functional benefits of Adermicina’s charcoal-based brand extension. In the competitive Anti-Acne category, the soap needed to visually signal its deep-cleansing power while maintaining a premium User Experience (UX). The challenge lay in developing a structural design that moved beyond generic formats to offer an intuitive, high-performance product that integrates seamlessly into a modern skincare routine.

Our Design Process: Ergonomics, Texture, and Industrial Engineering
Following extensive market analysis and a study of competitor ergonomics, we developed a square-format bar with rounded edges optimized for a superior grip. Our design solution integrated high-performance features into the product's physical anatomy: one face features a custom wave texture for enhanced exfoliation, while the opposite side is debossed with the brand’s iconic "A" as a visual identity seal. This 3D modeling phase ensured the bar was as technologically advanced as the formula itself.

The Outcome: Market-Leading Packaging and Category Innovation
The project resulted in an innovative, functional product that successfully merges product design with skincare science. By prioritizing the soap’s anatomy and physical touchpoints, we created a unique consumer experience that differentiates Adermicina from traditional competitors. The final result is a category-defining design that proves when product functionality and brand aesthetics are perfectly aligned, it creates a powerful tool for market positioning and consumer loyalty.
