A brand character is much more than a figure—it carries its own personality, essence, and emotional resonance. It embodies the values and identity of the brand, becoming its ambassador and building that crucial emotional bridge with consumers. For Cua Cua, the challenge was to refresh the duck’s look, bringing it into a more contemporary world while keeping its charm intact.
We explored multiple design paths, experimenting with anatomy, clothing, expressions, and poses to infuse the character with greater attitude and energy. The result was a modernized duck—youthful, bold, and full of life—that immediately invites consumers to connect with the product directly from the packaging. Through adjustments to the character’s expression, style, and details, we made it resonate more strongly with consumers, shifting away from earlier childlike associations. At the same time, the evolution retained nostalgic cues that resonate with older consumers, reinforcing brand love across generations. Our work extended beyond the mascot itself to include the full packaging redesign of the entire Cua Cua line and its display boxes, creating a cohesive and refreshed brand presence that celebrates one of Peru’s favorite snacks.
